CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- New developments in the hit and run death of 8-year-old Layla Aiken. Fox 4 receiving information from a witness who says a red pick-up truck parked across the street from his business might be the vehicle involved in the incident.

Daniel Zelinski tells Fox 4 there was a large Cape Coral police presence Monday morning around 7am. Cape Coral Police Department say they were investigating a red truck, but have not yet determined if it's the one from the crash.

Earlier that morning, witnesses say a red truck took a sharp turn at the corner of NE 3rd Avenue and NE 19th Terrace, hitting 8-year-old Layla Aiken, who later died at the hospital. The red truck fled the scene.

According to Zelinski a red truck was parked along Southeast 11th Avenue on a grassy area in front of ABC Supply in Cape Coral. Zelinski says CCPD acquired, “the video cameras from all the local businesses, they went through every business looking for video and they basically got a timeline from that.”

No arrests have been made, but CCPD says they do have a person of interest.
