CAPE CORAL, Fla — The Cape Coral Police Department and the City of Cape Coral will be teaming up with Waste Pro to prevent crime this holiday season.
CCPD says Waste Pro will be providing community sites where residents can dispose of cardboard boxes.
This is so people don't empty gift boxes at the curb.
Police say when people leave boxes out it makes it easy for criminals to see what new stuff you bought making you an easy target.
The bin will be located at 1020 Cultural Park Boulevard. It's the parking lot area across the street from City Hall from December 24th through December 28th.
CCPD says the bin will only be for recyclable materials.
The bin will be available for recyclable materials only.
