CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Cape Coral isn't giving up on trying to annex part of Matlacha.

Monday afternoon, the city council will meet with the attorney overseeing the case to discuss strategy.

The Cape has wanted to take nearly 6 acres of the unincorporated community since 2016.

But earlier this month, a judge ruled the city hadn't met all legal requirements to take the land.

The meeting is at 3 p.m. Monday in the council chambers. Part of it is open to the public.
