Cape neighbors spot more coyotes

Posted

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- More coyotes were spotted in Cape Coral, Wednesday, prompting concern for area pets.

The most recent siting was on Diplomat Parkway near Northeast 6th Avenue. A man posted a picture of the animal on a local Facebook group, showing the coyote roaming an empty field in broad daylight. Neighbor Lavonda Rivero says she has seen them roaming around as well, but only at night time. "I thought it was a random dog, but it looked awful big," she said. "It kind of scared me. I got up and went in the house when I saw it.

The sightings concern Rivero for her pets. "I have little dogs and I don't want my little dogs to get attacked."

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission does not remove coyotes, but provides a list of trappers people can use here.
