CAPE CORAL, Fla -- Cape Coral Police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a Southeast Cape Coral home Tuesday morning.
The crash happened near the intersection of Country Club Boulevard and SE 43rd Street.
The crash only involved one vehicle, a red mini SUV. Officers say only one person was in the car and that the woman driving it had to be trauma alerted to the hospital.
The car crashed into a multi-unit home, leaving behind a large hole on the front of the home.
"Can you imagine waking up to a big bang like that in the morning? I can't. Must have been pretty scary," said Al Steidtmann who lives in the neighborhood.
He added that he hopes the people who live in the home, along with the driver are all okay.
"I pray that she makes it through and gets better," said Steidtmann. "I can't believe she's not dead, she hit the house. I mean if you look it's on its roof, there's no doors. Hopefully she'll be alright," he added.
CCPD is still working to determine the cause of the crash. Other neighbors we spoke with do tell Fox 4 they these roads are dangerous, because speeding is an issue.
