CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County Commissioners are hoping to crack down on human trafficking in the area.

The group passed an ordinance earlier today, requiring strip clubs and other adult entertainment stores in the area to post signs about the issue.

Over at Emerald City Strip Club in Port Charlotte, it's a rule they can get behind.

"I have no problem helping anyone, if it's going to help someone in the future, I say let's do it," says Kipp Whaley, Emerald City owner.

But the owner adds that he now feels like he's been put under a spotlight.

He says if the commission wants to help stop human trafficking, they could do much more with this initiative.

One commissioner Fox 4 spoke to says they are open to expanding the ordinance and hope to see more action done across the state.

The ordinance goes into effect immediately.
