Child abuse arrest for Fort Myers Lutheran Services case manager

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police have filed child abuse charges on a Lutheran Services case manager after a 2-year-old child in her care was significantly injured.

According to Fort Myers Police, 27-year-old Caitlin Carroll has been arrested and charged in the crime.

The alleged victim is was taken to the Golisano Children’s Hospital with significant bruises to multiple planes of the face, ears, and body which didn't match with Carroll's statements.  

The hospital alerted the Department of Children and Families which in turn alerted the FMPD and the Child Protection Team to investigate.

Carroll is the fiancé of the child’s father and was tending to the child at the time of a reported fall.
