A 5-year-old is in the hospital with serious injuries after getting hit by a car. It happened around 7:30 Friday night on South 6th Street near Main Street in Immokalee.
Highway Patrol says the little boy was playing in a ditch near the road. They say the driver was trying to turn into the driveway, but hit the ditch and the little boy first. The driver was cited for careless driving, driving without proof of insurance and violation of a driver's license restriction.
