FORT MYERS, Fla. — Two people were rescued on a 35-foot sailing vessel during severe weather in Fort Myers Thursday night.

The Coast Guard was called to the incident around 10:45 p.m. after the boat operator said they had completely lost steering due to the weather conditions.

The Coast Guard says the boat was disabled 23 miles offshore. The Coast Guard was able to tow the boat back to Rose Marina.

No one was injured.
