UPDATE (8:41AM) : The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing mariner Thursday, who was participating in the Water Tribe Everglades Challenge.
The US Coast Guard is searching for a 73-year-old man participating in the Water Tribe Everglades Challenge.
The event started on Saturday at Fort DeSoto Park in Pinellas County. The event is now going south along Florida’s coast.
The competitors were supposed to check in in Placida in Charlotte County on Sunday and in Everglades City tomorrow.
The Coast Guard dispatched multiple air and water assets to look for the missing boater yesterday and will continue the search today.
