Collier County man steals patrol vehicle while police are searching nearby woods

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A Collier County man is in jail after he stole a Collier County Sheriffs Vehicle.

According to the Sheriff's report, the Sheriff's office received a call about a suspicious incident where a man was on her property and refused to leave.

When the Sheriff's Office arrived, they noticed a blood trail leading into the woods.

Deputies went to search the woods.

After returning, a Deputy noticed his marked patrol vehicle was missing.

The keys were left in the vehicle, and it was unlocked.

The patrol vehicle was located. It had extensive damage and was left abandoned.

During this time, Deputies noticed a man walking down the road. When questioned, he was uncooperative and did not comply with orders.

Deputies tasered Adji Merville, 21, and transported him to NCH for evaluation.

Merville was arrested and charged with Grand Theft Auto and Resisting without violence.
