NAPLES, Fla. -- The Collier County Sheriff's Office has a new addition to the mounted patrol.
Meet ‘Hondo’, a 12-year-old American Quarter Horse.
He had his first training session Tuesday after passing all of his basic requirements.
His handler is Sgt. Dave Estes of the Agriculture Unit.
"I'm really happy with him and I'm so blessed to have two great horses to ride now," Sgt. Estes said.
Sgt. Estes' other horse, Sampson, continues to serve. Sampson is an 11-year-old American Quarter Horse.
