CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral City Council will be meeting, and one thing on the agenda is new artwork.
The proposal by the Community Redevelopment Agency will be discussed as new business in tonight's meeting.
According to the agenda, resolution 60-20 is asking for a roundabout sculpture at Vincennes & SE 47th Terrace along with the ability to paint utility boxes.
The resolution goes on to say The South Cape Hospitality and Entertainment Associations has volunteered to sponsor the painting project and has contracted with a company to facilitate putting the artwork on the utility boxes.
The CRA approved up to $50,000 to purchase the artwork. Again, working with City staff, the CRA is prepared to advertise a "Call to Artists" to solicit proposed artwork for the round-a-bout.
