Traffic fatality shuts down all lanes of San Carlos Boulevard

UPDATE (12:21PM): Fox 4 has confirmed that three people have died in a crash earlier on San Carlos Park.

Florida Highway Patrol arrived on scene around 10:00 am.

Vehicle 1, a 2017 Lexus was traveling northbound on San Carlos Blvd.

Vehicle 2, a 2004 Jeep, was traveling southbound on San Carlos Blvd. in the outside lane. The driver of the Lexus crossed the median pavement divider.

As a result, the front of the Lexus struck the front of Jeep in the southbound San Carlos Blvd. outside lane, causing the Jeep to overturn.

The Lexus came to final rest facing north from within the southbound San Carlos Blvd outside lane.

The Jeep to final rest on its driver side facing southeast, partially within the southbound San Carlos Blvd outside lane and curbed shoulder.


Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a deadly crash according to the FHP map.

Troopers say two vehicles were involved.

The crash is located on 18066 San Carlos Boulevard, in the vicinity of Fort Myers Beach.

All lanes of San Carlos Boulevard are currently closed.

The crash is under investigation.
