CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Major Crime Detectives were on the scene of a death investigation off Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the investigation is took place Monday afternoon in a vacant lot near the intersection of Kenilworth Boulevard and Porter Street. That's just north of Veteran's Boulevard near Atwater Street.
Investigators say a family found the body, and that it may have been there for more than a week.
CCSO says there is no danger to nearby residents, but there will be increased police activity in the area while the scene is being processed.
