Arrest made in Naples homicide

UPDATE (10:00 PM)-- An arrest has been made in a Naples homicide investigation outside of a Home Depot.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office says Kenneth R. Tannassee, 29, has been charged with second-degree murder.

They say Tannassee listed his address as homeless.

Investigators say the female victim was discovered in the parking lot Friday afternoon.

The investigation is still ongoing. He is set to appear in court September 14-th.

UPDATE (8:55 PM) -- The Collier County Sheriff's Office says they are now investigating a homicide outside of a Home Depot in Naples.

Investigators say it happened in the parking lot area of the Home Depot on Airport-Pulling Road.

A person of interest is in custody.

Detectives are still on scene, and this is an active investigation.

People on the scene told FOX 4, the victim was homeless and living out of a car. They also say the victim was known to stay at St. Matthew's house.

The St. Matthew’s House President and CEO Vann Ellison released this statement:

“St. Matthew’s House is cooperating fully with the Collier County Sheriff’s office concerning this tragic situation. We are heartbroken and praying for all of the families involved and are putting together a crisis team with our community partners to comfort our staff and residents. Since this is an active investigation, unfortunately we cannot comment on it at this time”.
