PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery in Punta Gorda.
The incident occurred at 3:30 A.M. at the Circle K on the 6200 block of Marlympia Way in Punta Gorda.
Authorities released surveillance images of the suspect, who was wearing a black ski mask and black clothing. People who live in the area told Fox 4 they were surprised the incident happened in the quiet area. "Things like that, you don't really hear about it around here ever. It's very shocking," said one woman.
A manager at Circle K said she could not give a statement on the incident, but said the employee who was working that night is okay.
