The Lee County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on a hit-and-run crash that happened in North Fort Myers on Saturday.

Deputies tell Fox 4 it happened at 4:23 PM in the area of Pondella Road and Orange Grove Boulevard.

When deputies arrived on scene, they determined a black 2008 Mazda 6 was approaching Orange Grove Boulevard while traveling eastbound on Pondella Road. That's when an unknown green sedan also traveling eastbound on Pondella Road entered the right turn lane to turn right onto Orange Grove Boulevard, but failed to make the right turn, and aggressively reentered the eastbound through lanes of Pondella Road. That car sideswiped the black Mazda 6 in the front right corner panel. This caused the driver of the Mazda 6 to lose control of the vehicle and slide off the roadway into a traffic control power box.

The traffic light in the area was down for a period of time yesterday.

The driver of the Mazda 6 was not injured.

The driver of the unknown green sedan fled the scene and has not yet been located.

If you know anything about this accident or have any information about the green sedan, you are asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at (239) 477-1000.
