CAPE CORAL, Fla. --- A man attempting to burglarize cars in downtown Cape Coral was caught by patrol officers and was later identified as the perpetrator in previous crimes.

According to investigators the suspect was caught inside a parked truck, on April 21st by the trucks owners, at the 4800 block of Vincennes Street. The suspect fled the scene and the victim discovered $175 in cash and $300 in electronics had been stolen. The suspect could not be located, and the victim filed a police report.

The following night on April 22nd at approximately 12:20 a.m. the victim spotted the same suspect wearing the same clothing in the Club Square parking lot attempting to break-in to other cars.

Cape Coral Police patrol officers responded to the scene and found Kendrick Hubbell, 21, hiding in the entryway of a closed business. Once officers began to question Hubbell he could not provide reasonable answers to explain his actions and was placed under arrest for loitering and prowling.

With the help of several witnesses, police were able to charge Hubbell with burglary of a conveyance and grand theft.

Hubbell was transported to the Lee County Jail.
