CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A Cape Coral man was arrested on drug possession charges after being stopped for running a red light last week.

19-year-old Austin Grimm has been charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams, Possession of Controlled Substance Without Prescription, Possession of Marijuana Under 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Cape Coral Police, an officer witnessed Grimm run a red light at the intersection of Del Prado Boulevard and SE 26th Street around 10 p.m. on May 29th.

The officer pulled Grimm over and immediately smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a white trash bag containing two gallon-size Ziplock bags full of marijuana, as well as a small amount of marijuana and a grinder in the center console.

Also found in the trunk was a container with a large sheet of THC wax.

The marijuana was weighed at 449.2 grams, and the wax was weighed at 33.3 grams. Based on these discoveries, Grimm was placed under arrest and transported to the Lee County Jail.
