LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- One driver was flown to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on Tamiami Trail in Estero.
It happened shortly before 8 a.m. near Commons Way.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a school bus was stopped in the southbound lanes with lights on and stop signs out when a southbound white pickup truck swerved to avoid the bus.
The truck clipped a gray truck before crossing the median and colliding with a white NIssan car. The car's driver was trauma alerted to an area hospital.
Northbound lanes of Tamiami Trail are blocked at the scene.
