CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers say a driver involved in a serious crash on McCall Road earlier this month has died.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 87-year-old Bobby Barnhill of Port Charlotte died Friday.

She was the driver of an SUV that happened August 15th on South McCall Road at the intersection with David Boulevard.

Troopers say Barnhill was driving north on David Boulevard and attempting to turn left onto McCall Road.  Barnhill pulled into the median and stopped, but then pulled out into the path of a westbound dump truck.

Barnhill was critically injured and flown to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.  The truck's driver was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
