UPDATE (6/1)--
The Sarasota County Sheriffs Office announced several new charges for an Englewood Doctor.

The Sheriffs Office says Lohstreter turned himself into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility after detectives issued several warrants for his arrest.

Seven additional victims came forward and disclosed similar complaints about Lohstreter's actions while they were under his medical care.

Lohstreter now faces an additional six counts of Battery and a single count of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation on an Elderly Victim.

He was released Saturday on a $29,000 bond.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said an Englewood physician was charged with multiple counts of Sexual Battery after several female patients reported his misconduct.

One of the victims was a patient at the South County Medical Center.

The victim said she saw the doctor on several occasions without incident.

However, in December of 2019, she saw the doctor for vomiting issues and told him she had been battered.

When the nurse left the room, the doctor laid the victim on the exam table to examine her.

The victim stated he inappropriately touched her in her private areas without wearing gloves and adjusted his groin area several times while doing so.

An investigation revealed the doctor went outside the scope of the consent given and performed outside the typical common medical practices.

The doctor at first denied the allegations, but then remembered the patient.

He admitted to touching her private area without gloves and without a nurse present.

Doctor Thomas Lohstreter, 70, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery and Molestation.
