CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Cape Coral family is desperate to find a missing mother who disappeared on Monday. Both police and the family are seeking for answers as they continue to search for Diane Ruiz.

Ruiz was last seen walking to work at the Moose Lodge Monday on Santa Barbara Boulevard.

Fox 4 spoke with Diane Ruiz' son, Brandon Cuellar, the last person to see her before she left the house in time for her 10 am shift. “It’s just torture just waiting sitting back here and waiting it’s killing us, it really is killing us” said Cuellar.

The family are at a loss for words after the sudden disappearance of 43-year-old Diane Ruiz. “I want my mother to come home...that’s my mother” said Cuellar.

He says just an hour after she left the house, deputies came to his door with his mother’s purse that was found along Santa Barbara Boulevard, near Hector Caferata Elementary School and across the street from her job.

“It was a matter of 15, 20 minutes at around 10:40 letting me know my mother never showed up to work” said Brandon Cuellar.

When she was a no-show, her coworkers started to worry because they say Diane has never missed a day of work in five years. They describe her as a happy, well liked, dependable employee and friend. “She loved her job and she loved coming home, and her two happy places was just going to work and just coming home to her kids and her husband” said Cuellar.

Cape Police and the Lee County Sheriff's Office sent out search teams for several hours Tuesday, canvassing the area near her home and job.

Police need your help locating her.Diane has brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo of a dragon and rose on her back.
