Multiple units responded to a crash that shut down parts of Colonial Boulevard and Veronica S. Shoemaker Thursday night.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday and involved a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle. At lease one person had been removed from the scene.
As of 6:30 a.m. Friday, traffic was still moving slowly along Colonial Boulevard and westbound lanes were closed. However, all lanes were open as of 7 a.m.
**UPDATE** -- Police have identified the crash victim as 25-year-old Ernst Dorsinvil of Fort Myers.
Police say he was driving north on Plantation Road and ran the red light at Colonial Boulevard, where he crashed into the side of a tractor trailer.
Dorsinvil died at the scene.
The truck's driver was uninjured.
