FWC and Greater Naples Fire pulled a missing boater from a canal Friday afternoon.
It happened near a bridge in the 3000 block of 50th Street Southwest in Golden Gate Estates.
FWC says the victim died in a boating accident.
A witness told 4-in-Your Corner he saw one man in the water.
He dove in to try and find the victim, but he said the water was extremely murky.
Another neighbor says he isn't surprised a boating accident would happen here.
"They put a boat launch down here at Santa Barbara a couple years back and ever since then I've seen 4 times the boating activity than I used to see," said Steve Tompkins. "Obviously it's going to give more opportunity for stuff like this to happen."
The cause of the accident, and whether speed was a factor is still under investigation.
