CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A fatal crash on County Road 74/Bermont Road at the county line between Charlotte and Glades counties has caused complete road blockage.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, an eastbound semi truck collided with a westbound van containing six people. Troopers say it's unclear at this time which vehicle crossed over the center line before the collision.
Of the six people in the van, one is confirmed dead, and three others were trauma alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital. The other two were transported to Lehigh Regional with injuries.
The driver of the truck was taken to Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries.
Drivers should find alternate routes around the crash while troopers investigate at the scene.
