COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- The Fox 4 Breaking News Tracker was on the scene of a deadly crash Tuesday morning near Immokalee that forced a complete closure of State Road 82.
The accident happened at 3:21 a.m. Tuesday morning on State Road 82 near Lamm Road.
Both directions of S.R. 82 were closed between Corkscrew Road and S.R. 29, but have since reopened.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, as SUV was headed east on S.R. 82 when the driver, 19-year-old Marcos Gaspar of Immokalee, veered left and crossed the center line. His SUV then collided with a westbound car.
The SUV caught fire after the crash, and Gaspar was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The car's driver died at the scene. His identity has not been released yet.
Charges are pending the outcome of alcohol tests.
