LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol says an accident on US-41 Fairways Boulevard resulted in one fatality and critical injuries Saturday night. Troopers say a 70-year-old woman was traveling northbound on US-41, approaching the intersection of Lake Fairways Boulevard in the left turn lane.
A 57-year-old man with a passenger in the car was also traveling in the same direction approaching the intersection. The woman failed to give the right of way and crashed into the man's vehicle. Investigators say the man died from impact, and the 61-year-old female passenger was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
The 70-year-old female driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Troopers say the incident is under investigation.
