More than 3,500 cars involved in fire near RSW Airport

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. — Southwest Florida International Airport says more than 3,500 cars were involved in a fire near the airport. The Lee County Port Authority says the fire started in an area where rental cars are stored, east of Terminal Access Road.

FOX 4 can confirm that the fire did not threaten a terminal. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
