FORT MYERS, Fla., -- A private prayer vigil for First Responders only was held to honor Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller, who was shot and remains in stable, but critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Out of respect, Fort Myers Police Department kindly asked media to not attend to give First Responders their privacy.
Fox 4 followed along on a live feed on Lee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
The vigil began with a series of prayers before a couple speakers, including Governor Rick Scott, spend a few minutes giving words of comfort. The vigil ended by lighting candles and then concluding with another word of prayer.
Fort Myers Police Department says suspect-shooter, Wisner Desmaret, also incurred wounds from the incident. He remains in police custody at Lee Memorial Hospital.
