CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The American Military Veterans Foundation hosted it's 6th annual Charity Fishing Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend. The tournament raises money for veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Fundraisers help pay for therapeutic treatments and activities to help provide relief.
The even, which is regularly held on Memorial Day weekend, is used to not only raise awareness for the needs of veterans, the event is used to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The event took place at the Cape Harbor Marina
Despite the wet weather, the event started early Sunday morning. One of the people excited to participate was Zachary Nyce. Nyce volunteered with the other children at the event. It's something he says he's happy to do for the veterans in his life.
“They did something for us so we should do something in return for them", he told Four in Your Corner.
