Flood Advisory issued for Lee County

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for Lee County until 11:15 AM.

At 8:18 AM, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms that will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Pine Island, and St. James City.

Precautionary Actions: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

In Collier County, Naples Police report roadway flooding in several areas:

  • Golden Gate Parkway between Goodlette Road and U.S. 41.
  • Goodlette Road just north and south of Golden Gate Parkway.
  • Streets around the Naples Community Hospital.
  • Harbour Drive and Leeward Lane.
  • 8TH Street North and Central Avenue.
  • 9TH Street North and Banyan Boulevard.
  • 10th Street South and 10th Avenue South
