Florida Department of Law Enforcement concludes investigation into Sheriff Carmine Marceno

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Fox 4 has just received updated information regarding the investigation against current Sheriff Carmine Marceno.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s investigation into P.A.S.S. and Lee County Sheriff Marceno’s law enforcement training has concluded.

FDLE Agents found no evidence to support criminal predicate that would justify further investigation.

In October former Lee County Sheriff Rodney Shoap asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate Sheriff Carmine Marceno's qualifications.

Shoap sent a letter to the FDLE commissioner two weeks ago, stating when Marceno applied to work in Florida, he lied on an official form saying he had worked full time in another state when he was a part-time park ranger.
