FORT MYERS, Fla. -- In the next few weeks, Fort Myers Police K-9 Mattis will get a brand new bullet and stab protective vest.
The vest is being donated by the non-profit organization "Vested Interest in K-9’s."
The group has donated custom made vests to over 3500 K-9s in the U.S.
Each vest is worth between $1,000-$2,000.
K-9 Mattis' vest will be embroidered with the statement "honoring those who served and sacrificed".
