Marco Island city manager Dr. Lee Niblock, is facing criminal charges after being accused of battery.
According to an incident report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Niblock is facing charges of misdemeanor battery. The victim told deputies Niblock committed battery on her in January when the two met for dinner and he attempted to kiss her, but she pulled away.
City council members agreed to put the city manager on a leave of absence, in February, until investigators worked to uncover details. Later the council unanimously voted to fire Niblock.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday and he turned himself in. Niblock has since bailed out of jail.
