FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The man who arrested Mark Sievers back in 2016, former Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott, is now speaking out on the conviction.
He sent Fox 4 a statement, writing “justice was indeed served, thanks to the fantastic work of so many dedicated men and women from the sheriff’s office and the State Attorney’s Office.
“I consider myself fortunate to have been associated with the finest bunch of professionals and their dedication to excellence.”
Mark Sievers was convicted Wednesday on first degree murder and conspiracy for hiring two men to kill his wife Teresa in 2015.
Under Sheriff Scott, Sievers was arrested in February 2016 and charged with Teresa's murder.
