GLADES COUNTY, Fla. -- One driver is dead after crashing into the rear of tractor trailer on U.S. 27 early Monday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, it happened at 2:20 a.m. Monday on U.S. 27 at the intersection with State Road 78, west of Moore Haven.
Troopers say the 40-year-old victim was driving west on U.S. 27 and failed to stop behind a tractor trailer that was stopped in the outside lane with hazard lights on.
His car slammed into the rear of the truck, killing the driver on the scene.
The truck's driver was uninjured.
FHP has not yet released the victim's name.
This crash happened just hours after a triple fatal truck rollover in the same area.
