FORT MYERS-- A Fort Myers man faces charges after deputies say he punched and threatened to kill a man he let sleep at his house.

According to a report from the lee county sheriff's office, Jerry Thompson invited a homeless man to stay with him Saturday night.

Then Sunday morning, they say Thompson accused the man of stealing money, hit him in the face, then grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill him.

The victim escaped.
