FORT MYERS, Fla. — Community members will gather at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Monday morning to honor and remember thousands of U.S. veterans who died while serving our country in the armed forces.

The ceremony will begin with a flyover by a Douglas C-47 Skytrain, as a bag-piper plays "Taps" in the background. The program will continue with a wreath laying ceremony, special remarks and a program dedicated to American fallen heroes. There is a lunch cookout following the ceremony at the Colonial Family Center.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. It's located at 1589 Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers.
