FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department says they have imposed disciplinary actions against four officers involved in a fight at the Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral in February.
“At the Fort Myers Police Department, I hold our officers to the highest possible standards. The discipline imposed today to these four officers is a direct reflection of that belief. Not only must we serve our community, but we must also be transparent and police ourselves. This is what the community expects and deserves,” said Chief Diggs.
The following disciplinary actions were imposed on these officers:
Officer Ezra Padgham
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (9): Standard of Conduct – Reprimand.
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (39) – Reprimand and removal from Acting Sergeant Position (return to K-9 Duties).
Officer Luke Walsh
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (A) (5): Rules Governing Conduct – 80- hour suspension without pay (to run concurrently)
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (9): Standard of Conduct – 80-hour suspension without pay (to run concurrently) and 30-day removal from assigned unit (Return to K-9).
Officer Edgar Nieves
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (A) (5): Rules Governing Conduct – 40 hours Suspension without pay (to run concurrently).
General Order 9.1 General Rules of Conduct Section II (9): Standard of Conduct – 40 hours Suspension without pay (to run concurrently) and 30-day removal from currently assigned unit.
Officer Robin Vazquez
