Fort Myers Police make arrest in early morning Circle K Shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Fort Myers Police responded to a call about a man with a gun outside of a Circle K on Cleveland Avenue.

Police determined multiple rounds were fired into the store windows and caused significant damage.

Two firearms were recovered from the scene.

There were no injuries reported.

Police were able to identify a suspect Regie M. Meant, 26.

Based on the investigation, the witness statements, and the physical evidence, there was sufficient probable cause to charge Meant with Aggravated Assault and Shooting into a Building while Occupied.

Meant was also charged with Violation of Disaster Preparedness due to the Florida State Governor’s stay at home to combat the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.
