UPDATED (12:20 PM)-- Fort Myers Police say they are currently working what was a missing person case that has now been deemed suspicious/criminal in nature.
FMPD says an adult female has been located by officers and is being treated for injuries at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Crime Scene units are out processing the separate scenes, 1019 Marsh Avenue and 3980 Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard, to collect evidence and complete necessary procedures to determine the extent of the crime.
Detectives believe the victim was targeted.
The Fort Myers Police Department is working two active scenes.
One scene is located at the Trailhead Park on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard and Brookside on Marsh Avenue.
FMPD responded to a call about a missing adult.
The missing person is accounted for.
There are Officers, Detectives, and Crime Scene units in the areas investigating and collecting evidence.
