IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Family and friends gathered at Bethel Ministries International, as they laid Florida Fish and Wildlife Officer Julian Keen to rest.

“Julian may be gone on this side, but one thing the bible said the devil comes to steal kill and destroy, but he said I come so that he might have life and have it more abundantly,” Pastor Remar Scott.

At just 30-years old, Keen left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

“We cried together, laughed together, we did everything together.”

Officer Julian Keen was shot and killed on the morning of June 14th while trying to stop a reckless driver in LaBelle.

“If we ain’t got nothing else, we got glory from the smile that he has, ” said Delores Rice Keen.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Lieutenant Coronel Brian Smith says that from day one, Officer Keen stood out amongst the rest.

“He displayed natural leadership in motivating others to be better, ” said Smith.

Keen worked to serve the community.

“Even to the very end his life his legacy he was doing what was right when someone was not watching, ” said Truleia R Fuller.

In honoring Officer Keen, many strive to follow in his footsteps with the hashtag #BeLikeJulian.

“Having that great attitude and always having the best effort in everything you do, if you do like that we can truly be like Julian.”
