Full Firefighter funeral service with honors held for beloved volunteer firefighter

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Bayshore Fire Rescue announced the passing of a Volunteer Firefighter.

Dwight “Shadow” Henry died at the age of 36 after suffering a medical emergency.

Dwight proudly served the citizens of Bayshore for 15 years. He was loved by many.

“His loss will be felt within the department for years to come, he will be remembered for his kind heart, joy for life, and love of service."

For those wanting to attend, visitation Service will be held at the Gendron Funeral Home located at 2325 E Mall Dr., on Wednesday, May 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the public welcomed beginning at 6:00 p.m.

A Full Firefighter Funeral Service with Honors will be held on Thursday, May 14th, at the Lee County Civic Center beginning at 11:00 a.m.

There will be an Emergency Vehicle Procession from Gendron Funeral Home to the Lee County Civic Center, departing at 9:45 a.m.

The district will be taking precaution following CDC guidelines and handing out surgical mask at the front entrance.

There will not be a Graveside Service.
