FORT MYERS, Fla. -- While Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller remains in the hospital in critical condition after being shot by a suspect Saturday night, many in the community are looking for ways to help his family.

Earlier this week, a call was put out for blood donors at Lee Memorial Hospital, and that need was overwhelmingly met.

So far, hundreds of people have now donated to his official GoFundMe account.  The Fort Myers Police Department says the response has been overwhelming.

As of Friday morning, more than $51,000 has been raised to help his family with medical expenses.

And there will be other ways to help support his family this weekend.

Saturday, Wingnuts Pub and Grub on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral will take donations from 11am to 8pm.  There will be a dunk tank, bounce house, and wings.

And Sunday, Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral will host a fundraiser from 6pm to 10pm.  They will have live music, food, raffles, and more. A $5 donation will be requested at the door.

There will also be a fundraiser held at Sidelines on Saturday night.

And every Tuesday in August, Nauti Parrot Dock Bar on Fort Myers Beach will have a fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Moody River Grille in North Fort Myers will also host a fundraiser on Saturday, August 4th, from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.

From Tuesday, August 7 through Saturday, August 11th, Shima Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar on Sanibel will donate a portion of its sales to assist Officer Jobbers-Miller and his family.
