Game of Emotions? How to cope when your series ends

I will confess right at the top that I know what it's like to be obsessed with a TV show. Every night I take an hour and watch an episode of the original Star Trek series. I 've seen all 78 episodes dozens of times! And after this weekend that's all 'Game of Thrones' fans will have left. Reruns and memories.

That's why we went searching for some professional advice on coping with the end of one of the most popular series on TV. Psychiatrist April Brown of Cape Coral says a feeling of loss is perfectly normal.

She says it's because we make a connection. For eight seasons, we have enjoyed every 'Game of Thrones' plot twist cheered every hero, cursed every villain.

SuperFan Ryan West of Cape Coral is awaiting this Sunday's series finale with mixed feelings. He says he's anxious to see the show but also sad that the series is coming to an end.

At 'Cool Comics & Games' in Cape Coral, they have all the 'Game of Thrones' merchandise to keep those memories alive. The series may be going away but the merchandise will not. There's one 'Game of Thrones' game that's $60.

A few steps away, there's another one that goes for $150.00! Back on the couch at Doctor Brown's office, I lie down and get some counseling on what it's like for those of us who have never seen even one episode.

For everyone else, Doctor Brown says to find something else to replace it - or another way to connect with family and friends.
