NAPLES, Fla. -- In advance of Memorial Day, a Southwest Florida chain of hardware stores is offering free small American flags at all nine of their locations.

The free flags, measuring 8 inches by 12 inches, will be available on May 25 at all nine Sunshine Ace Hardware locations, and many other Ace Hardware stores across the country.

No purchase is necessary, but supplies are limited.

Ace Hardware has pledged to distribute 1 million American flags nationwide. Ace Hardware is partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and will be providing thousands of flags to VFW posts around the nation to mark and honor veterans’ graves on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 27.

“Sunshine Ace has supported veteran organizations in Southwest Florida for many years, and we’re extremely proud to employ a number of veterans in our stores, from managers and cashiers to sales associates and delivery drivers,” said Sunshine Ace President Michael Wynn.

“This Memorial Day, Ace stands with the VFW in honoring the courage of the brave men and women who have sacrificed everything for their country. We applaud the VFW for the incredible support they continue to provide for veterans nationwide and are grateful to be able to work together with our loyal customers to honor the fallen this Memorial Day,” said John Surane, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Ace Hardware.
