LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Jon Hay, the man accused of shooting a Sanibel police officer last November, has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.
He faces four counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Investigators say on November 20th, he shot officer Jarred Ciccone in the shoulder while he was conducting a traffic stop on Perriwinkle Way.
They say he sparked a shootout with police minutes later.
Hay is due back in court in November.
