The 19-year-old is facing several charges, including leaving the scene of a crash with a fatality, vehicular homicide, and possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
He was released from jail Friday after his family paid a $131,000 bond.
Aiken was hit and killed by a truck as she sat on the ground at her school bus stop in Cape Coral in March.
Cape Coral Police say Hetherington was the driver of that truck.
